Domestic Abuse

Domestic Violence or Domestic Abuse is when one person in a relationship or family uses violence or abuse to cause fear and get control over the other person.

Abuse in the home or from an ex-partner can happen to anyone regardless of class, age, race, sexuality, religion, ability/disability or ethnic group.

Domestic abuse is wrong!

You have the right to live your life free from fear and abuse!

Domestic Abuse is when someone you are in an intimate relationship with at present:

  • Assaults you physically –hitting, kicking, biting, pushing…
    and/or
  • Abuses you sexually – being made to do things you do not want to
    and/or
  • Abuses you verbally – shouting, name calling…
    and/or
  • Emotionally or psychologically -humiliation…
    and/or
  • Financial abuse – controlling all the money…
    and/or
  • Social isolation – stops you from seeing your family or friends

Domestic Abuse does not go away on its own. It tends to get worse and becomes more frequent with time, harming you and your children.

Don’t put up with Domestic Abuse – speak out today!
